John Hawkins

Obituary John Joseph Hawkins died August 16, 2010, at 96 years old. He was born in Lavalle, Wisconsin, 1913 on the family dairy farm. He was brought to Washington State by the U.S. Air Corps, at McChord. He fell in love with this state, Lorraine Wold and stayed. He and Lorraine started the Carousel Pet Shop on 38th & G St. Tacoma. He retired from Nalleys Fine Foods. When he retired they loved to travel with the Good Sam Camp Club and ended up snow-birding to Arizona. He was a builder, mechanic, Mr. Fix-It, hunter, fisherman and a true family man. He was survived by, son, Kenneth Hawkins, daughter Dianna Hemmi, 3 grand-children, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren. He was the "wind beneath our wings." Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 1:00pm at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at 7:00 pm at the Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel.
