Obituary John F. Gallo 6/9/1921 ~ 10/12/2013 John Francis Gallo passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on October 12, 2013. He was a resident of Patriots Landing, Dupont, WA, and a longtime resident of Lakewood, WA. Born in Revere, PA, John was the son of Luigi and Diodato Gallo of Connellsville, PA. He served in the CCC; entered the US Army in 1942 and served in WWII - European Theater with 216th General Hospital and later with a MASH unit in the Korean War. He married Florence Maibach in 1952. Upon retiring from the Army as a Master Sergeant, John continued work at the Ft. Lewis Logistics Center, as a civilian employee. After completely retiring, he remained busy in the community, focusing on travel, friends and family. John enjoyed being a member of St. Francis Cabrini and Visitation Parishes; he was active in the Serra Club, Knights of Columbus and Lakewood Elks. John is survived by his wife of 61 years, Florence; daughter, Jeanne Marie, (Charles Meier); son, Steve (Rhonda, Martinez, CA); grandchildren, Brian (Lee), Jason (Danielle), Andy, and Monica; and great-grandchildren, Jamie and Autumn; still going strong are sisters Alvetta Hall, Camille Gerhart, and Adeline Luciani; all of whom he loved and who brightened his world. John is preceded in passing to eternal life by his siblings, Rose Rizzo, Anne Principe, Dan, Jules and Louis Gallo. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 11:00am at St. Frances Cabrini, 5707 108th St. SW, Lakewood, with Rosary recited prior to Mass, followed by a reception. Entombment at Calvary Cloisters.
