Obituary John W. Bowlby Our JOHN W. BOWLBY, 56, passed away suddenly at his home in Puyallup on Thursday evening May 7, 2009 by the side of his loving wife of 30 years. John was born in Tacoma, Washington to John J, and Margaret Bowlby who have preceded him in death. John is survived by his loving wife Julie Bowlby and their two devoted children Jeff Bowlby and Sunny Bowlby. John will be greatly missed by his sisters and brothers: Joan Lake (J.R.); Doni Hammar (Bill); Margaret Meyer (Ralph); Mary Cook (Mike); Paul Bowlby (Linda); Robert Bowlby (Robin) and Jack "John" Robinson and the many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. During his tenure with the US Geological Survey, John was honored with national recognition for his innovative ideas and service from the Department of Interior. He is an accomplished inventor in his field. John was able to retire last year after 25 years and has enjoyed many camping trips to the ocean for clam digging and family time.
