Obituary Joan (Mileski) Robb After experiencing complications related to a very recent cancer diagnosis, our beloved "Joanie" passed away on October 16th, 2007. Preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Henrietta Mileski, Joan is survived by her loving daughter, Suzanne (Ken) Boone, son Grant Robb, her sisters Janice Mileski, Kathy May Mileski and Gail (Ken) Stevens, two nephews, Jim May and Ken Ogren, two grandsons, Nicholas Boone and Garrett Boone, and a four-legged friend, Sophie, who gave her so much joy. Born October 29, 1940, Joan had fond memories of growing up in Puyallup, where she attended Riverside Elementary, was active in 4-H, and graduated from Puyallup High School in 1958. Joan worked in the credit department at Sears until she had her first child. She also attended St. Peter and Paul Church in Tacoma. Joan's zest for life in her younger days was evident from an active lifestyle that included water skiing and sunbathing on Mineral Lake, as well as tap dancing and driving her '68 red Mustang up to Casey's Auction or the local Grange dance. In her later years, Joan enjoyed creating some beautiful embroidery work and spending time with her family and friends. Joan is best remembered for her quick wit and great sense of humor, which she continued to delight us with in her final days and hours. She was most proud of her family, especially her grandchildren, who she gave encouragement and support and the spirit of laughter and love. As she entertains a greater audience, Joan's memory will live on through those whose lives she touched. The family invites you to join a funeral service to celebrate Joan's life on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 10:30 am at the Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel, 1002 S. Yakima Ave., Tacoma 98405, Ph. 253-572-6003. A graveside service will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Please leave online condolences at www.gaffneyfuneralhome.com .
