Obituary Joan Carole (McDonald) Pavia On July 24th, our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away in the arms of her loving family. Joan was born in Tacoma, WA to William and Catherine McDonald on December 11, 1933. After graduating from Aquinas Academy in 1951, she married Frank J. Pavia and they raised five children together until his death in 1969. Joan is survived by sons Joseph of Tacoma, Michael (Mary) of Downers Grove, Il; daughters Suzanne Harrison (Tim) of Eatonville, Terese High (Doug) of Gig Harbor, Anne Pavia of Tacoma. She is also survived by sisters Mary Kay Davis of Agoura Hills, CA, Claire Savage of Federal Way, WA, seven grandchildren, Ian and Tara High, Angela and Christopher Bockman, Britni, Baylee and Timmothy Harrison, great grandson, Jameson Bockman, as well as many nieces and nephews. Joan enjoyed many activities, including reading, gardening, genealogy, and Mariners. She was especially proud of her Scottish heritage, including membership in Clan Donald. Despite her long illness, Joan remained active, cruising in May to Alaska to visit her father's birthplace. Memorial service will be celebrated Saturday, July 28, 2007 12:00pm (Noon) at St. Leo Catholic Church. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
