Obituary Joan R. Hamilton Joan R. Hamilton, 81, died March 22, 2014 in Tacoma of sudden heart failure. She was born December 10, 1932 in Tacoma, Washington. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph. Joan is survived by her sons, Daniel (Diane) and Thomas (Amy); daughter, Kathy (Wes) Lawrence; brother, Mark (Donna) Bailey; and sisters, Barbara Cleary, Kathy (Bill) Truax, Ginny (Tony) Hoffman, and Mary Burnsides; and 8 grandchildren. Joan was raised in Tacoma and resided in Eatonville for 47 years before returning to Tacoma. Joan was a graduate of Aquinas, class of 1950. She enjoyed bowling and shared her love of life with family and friends. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 11:00am at St. John of the Woods Catholic Church, 9903 - 24th Avenue E., Tacoma, WA 98445. A Rosary will be recited prior to Mass at 10:30am also at church. Inurnment at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John of the Woods Catholic Church.
