Jefferey Scott Larson

April 7, 1961 — June 20, 2009

Obituary Jeff S. Larson 4/7/1961 - 6/20/2009 Jeff was truly larger than life. His indomitable spirit, boundless capacity for love and generosity, charismatic personality and tender heart were a gift to us all. We have lost a man who gave everything and asked for nothing in return, whose family and friends feel blessed and honored to have shared his light. Loving husband and hero to his children, Jeff's titanic and courageous fight to beat cancer was inspirational beyond words. His passion for life was unmatched, like gravity pulling us into his orbit. Lifelong friend Darryl said, "He was the hub and we were the spokes." Jeff opened his heart to everyone, charmed your socks off, and lived life to its fullest. Heaven gained one for the ages, but our loss is deep. At Wilson he was All-City and captain of the football team. Jeff worked hard to pay his own way through college and UPS Law School. He became a talented, highly respected, street-fighting advocate for his many clients. In court his honesty and directness allowed him leeway not granted to others, and judges loved him for his forthright ‘do the right thing' manner. Jeff loved family time (Mr. Cuddles to his kids), working hard and playing hard, ice-cold beer and Tacoma food. He loved the beach, restoring homes and buildings with his own hands, cruising on his motorcycle and boat, golfing and skiing, and rising at dawn. He loved to share everything with everyone. Jeff's path through life was beyond wide; a big, bear-hug of a man who offered his friendship to everyone. No one was immune to his wit and humor. Like a gentle giant, his commanding presence and voice would dominate a room, but his disarming and self-deprecating humor would draw you in. Tacoma has lost an icon, and he will be sorely missed. Survived by his devoted, loving and beautiful wife Cheryl, children Alex and Natalie, blessed mom Judy and sister Karen (Ed) - both truly amazing, who stood by his bedside day and night for months - and his father Harold (Helen), he also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces whom he loved very much. In Heaven Jeff is now hugging his sister Jennifer. Jeff's life will not be forgotten. His soul lives on in all of us. Godspeed, Jeff, we love you, miss you, and wish you eternal peace. Special thanks to Dr. Danishman, Dr. Baker, Dr. Craig Nichols, Franciscan Hospice, and devoted family and friends. Please leave online condolences at www.gaffneycares.com . Services will be held 2PM on 7/10/2009 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1315 N. Stevens St., Tacoma. Counsel may rest now (in peace).
