Jeanette Frances Close

Obituary Jeanette passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on June 18, 2007, at the age of 88. She was well known for her vibrant personality, and her determined independence; she could frequently be seen scooting along 6th Avenue in her wheelchair. Jeanette was born in Kirkland, WA and was very proud of her Northwest heritage. She attended Garfield High School in Seattle and the College of Puget Sound in Tacoma. She was an avid quilter and actively involved in quilting groups, book clubs, and the Red Hat Society. She will be missed by her many friends and by her family: daughters; Claudia and Colleen, son-in-law; Stephen, and grandchildren Kathryn, Virginia, and Matthew. She was preceded in death by her son; Kevin, her son-in-law; Robert, and her sister; Eleanor. Funeral service will be held at Mason Methodist Church, 2710 N. Madison, Tacoma, WA on Friday, June 22, 2007 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the University of Puget Sound or the Tacoma Lutheran Home.
