Janet McIntyre went to be with her husband John of 46 years and departed family members on February 19th, 2025 after a long courageous battle with Respiratory Hypertension.
Janet was born on September 19, 1934, in Tacoma Washington to Pete and Jennie Spadafore. Janet graduated from Stadium High School and later attended Washington State University. Prior to having a family and becoming a Homemaker, Janet was a legal secretary at the Law Office of John Krilich and later worked for State Distributing when her children were older. Janet managed the concessions at the University of Puget Sound Field House and Cheney Stadium for over 25 years with her best friend Becky Christensen. Janet was active in Sons of Italy Lodge, Philomethea at Bellarmine Prep, Hold Cross School Board Member and Mother’s Club President Club as well as Girl Scouts and other parent groups supporting her children’s activities.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents Peter and Jennie Spadafore, her sister Nancy Benville and numerous relatives and friends. Janet had a strong faith, and was extremely proud of her Italian Heritage, passing down family traditions to her family and friends. Janet was the Matriarch of both the Spadafore and Reda Families and took her responsibilities to heart, always making sure that every family member was taken care of. She unselfishly gave to those in need without expecting anything in return and will be deeply missed. Janet was known as “NANIE” not just to her family but to those who loved her and knew her best.
Janet is survived by her children Ann (Marty) Webster, Mary (Kevin) Byrne, John (Carole) McIntyre, her grandchildren Elizabeth Webster, Daniel (Anna) Webster, Jeanette (Chris) Barone and Ashley (Antonio) Sellers, James (Raewyn) Byrne and Chase Byrne, Jamie Grape and Travis Grape and 7 Great Grandchildren, Luke, Olivia and Stella Barone, Leo Webster, Penelope Sellers, Justin Brennan and Kingston McAfee and many dear relatives and friends.
