Obituary Jane Paskowski 10 Oct. 1949 - 4 Sept. 2005 Jane died at home peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends, after a short but courageous battle with lung cancer, on September 4, 2005. Jane was born to Joseph B. (deceased) and Alice Jane (AJ) Uniacke on October 10, 1949 in Port Chester, NY. Jane was the beloved wife of 32 1/2 years of Michael. Jane and Michael's son Mike III predeceased her earlier this year. In addition to her husband Michael, Jane was the loving mother and is survived by daughters Katelyn (Katie) and Kristin (Kickin), and sons Matthew and Andrew, all of Lakewood, WA; her mother AJ Maloy of Huntington, NY; her sister Ellin of Omaha, NE; her brothers Michael Uniacke and Mark Uniacke of Denver, CO, John Uniacke of Jacksonville, FL, and Andy Uniacke of Naperville, IL., and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jane was a very special treasure to all of her family and friends. She reached out to all and was the life and at the center of any gathering she attended. Her sense of humor, wit, love, kindness and compassion endeared her to all who had the good fortune to meet her. She showed tremendous courage and grace throughout her short illness. She was truly a very special gift and she will be greatly missed by her family, and our wonderful friends, neighbors and Jane's co-workers. Jane's family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Jasmine Daniels and the entire staff at the Oncology and Hematology Clinic at the Madigan Army Hospital and the Franciscan Hospice for their compassion and caring support for Jane during her illness. Visitation and wake Thursday, September 8, 2005, 7 pm to 9:00 pm at the funeral home, 1002 South Yakima Avenue, Tacoma, WA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, September 9, 2005, 11:00 am, St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Lakewood, WA. The Rosary will be recited prior to the mass at 10:30 am, with visitation also at the church beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Jane's name to the Franciscan Hospice, 2901 Bridgeport Way West, University Place, WA 98466, who provided such loving and compassionate care for Jane.
