Obituary Jane Bishop McNeal September 18, 1928 ~ August 27, 2014 Jane McNeal died peacefully in her sleep. Born in Seattle to Irene and E. Allen Bishop, she enjoyed an idyllic childhood with her brothers, Art and Peter, in Laurelhurst. After graduating in 1947 from Forest Ridge, Jane went to the University of Washington and became a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. There she met her future husband and best friend, Warren Franklyn McNeal. In 1951, Jane and Warren moved to Yakima to start his dental practice, where they raised their four children and made many lifelong friends. Jane was an avid boater. For three decades, she and Warren spent most weekends aboard "The Desert Hawk" while it was moored at Shilshoe Bay Marina. Upon retirement, they built their dream home in La Conner overlooking their boat in Shelter Bay. Jane also loved skiing and skied in Sun Valley, Europe and, of course, White Pass. Travel was another passion and Jane visited every continent. Her children and nine grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She loved to cook and knit for them and her sweaters were beautiful. Every day with Grammie was an adventure. Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Warren; and her brother, Art. She is survived by her four children, Charlie (Patty) McNeal, Sarah (Chuck) Kuhn, Peter (Janice) McNeal, Joan (Gary) Peterson; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren; brother, Peter Bishop; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Bishop. Jane had boundless energy and a zest for life. She will be missed. The family is grateful to the loving caregivers at The Weatherly Inn. Please leave online condolences at www.gaffneycares.com.
