James (Jim) Payson Pickett passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024, at 80 years of age.
Jim was born to Russell and Wilma Pickett on February 12,1944 in Algona, Iowa and attended Algona High School. He married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Pickett and together they had one daughter, Marisa. They were happily married for 55 years until his beloved wife passed away.
He was an Army Veteran and served during the Vietnam war as a paratrooper.
Together, they moved to Washington where Jim was stationed at Fort Lewis Army base and completed his military service. After the military, he worked in sales management.
Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, auto racing and he was an avid sports fan. One of his great joys was coaching his daughter's softball teams, and later spending time with his twin granddaughters.
Jim is preceded in death by his wife Pat Pickett (Ugulini} and his parents, Russ and Wilma Pickett. He is survived by his daughter, Marisa (Anthony Caruso) and his two granddaughters, Mariella and Christina, his sister, Judy Dusek (Denny), his brother Jeff Pickett (Cindy) and his brother Jerry Pickett (Teresa) and many nieces, nephews and relatives.
Deepest Gratitude to all of those involved in his care in his later years.
A Graveside Service will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery on December 13, 2024, at 1:30pm. (Attendees must arrive by 1pm)
