Obituary Arrangements by Gaffney Funeral Home James J. Pfeiffer "Jimmy John" James J. Pfeiffer, "Jimmy John" passed away on April 21, 2018 after a courageous and fearless three month battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Jim was born on December 21, 1958 to James and Mavis Pfeiffer. He grew up in University Place and graduated from Curtis High School. He attended Washington State University and The University of Puget Sound. Jim was the Principal at Idlewild Elementary School in the Clover Park School District for the past eight years, and was recently nominated for Administrator of the Year. He dedicated his lifelong work to education and passionately devoting his time to his family in Washington and Arizona. Jim is survived by his mother Mavis Pfeiffer, his daughter Kaylee Pfeiffer, son Kyle Pfeiffer, brother Greg (Terri) Pfeiffer and sister Debbie (Mike) Lord. Survived by several nieces and nephews and former wife and best friend Kelli Pfeiffer. Predeceased by father James Pfeiffer. Jim had an optimistic and enthusiastic nature. He was absolutely an original with a zest for life and an infectious smile. He had the ability to make others laugh with his quick wit and sense of humor. In addition to his love for education, Jim adored cars, specifically his 68 Charger and his Bullitt Mustang. He loved attending car shows with Kyle and Greg purchasing many cars that became "flippers." They were so active in their passion, Jim and Kyle appeared on the show, "Graveyard Carz" a popular television highlighting popular mopar vehicles. If you knew Jim, he always valued you and reminded you how much you loved him and that he was "your favorite Principal" (Mr. 5-4) His favorite greeting was, "Yay, it's you!" (wink) and he always focused on the solution vs. dwelling on the problem. Finally, his daily purpose was to enforce communication in supporting relationships, because he would often say, "it's about the relationships." We look forward to celebrating Jimmy John on his day, "5-4."
