Obituary James Andrew Huey James Andrew Huey Died suddenly in his home in Tacoma on Saturday, January 25. He was 33. James, born on March 29, 1980 in Worthington, MN, was a graduate of Bismarck (ND) High School and Tacoma Community College. He was employed at Stadium Thriftway, where he loved serving the public, especially the Friday afternoon summer outdoor BBQs. Previously, he had been employed at the Red Robin in Federal Way and Cucina Cucina in Tacoma. An Eagle Scout, James twice earned the "Zero Hero" award, camping out when the temperature plunged to -29 degrees. He spent two summers as a Charlie Guide at the Charles L. Sommers BSA Northern Tier National High Adventure Canoe Base, guiding scout troops from all over the U.S. into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in Northern Minnesota and Quetico Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada. He was most at home hiking, camping and canoeing in the wilderness. James was a kind, generous, and loving friend to all who knew him. He is survived by his parents Marcia and David Huey, of Gig Harbor, WA, his brother Jon Huey, of Portland, OR, his sister Sara Huey, her husband Chad Lau, nephew Joey Lau, and niece Ana Lau, all of Ham Lake, MN. He is also survived by his 98-year-old grandmother, Muriel Huey, of Minneapolis, MN, with whom he was particularly close, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, . . . and two cats. A memorial service is planned for 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 23, at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 901 North J St, Tacoma, with a reception following at 2:45 PM at the Event Room at the HUB, 203 Tacoma Avenue S, Tacoma. Memorials in lieu of flowers are preferred to St. Leo's Food Connection, 710 South 13th Street Tacoma, WA 98405, My Sister's Pantry, 621 Tacoma Avenue South, Tacoma, WA 98402, or your local food shelf.
