Obituary James M. Colito Sr. November 8, 1924 ~ July 8, 2008 After 20 months, Jim lost his courageous fight with cancer. Jim was a gifted and accomplished commercial fisherman and superb marine navigator. Jim began his fishing career at a very early age, fishing for sardines off the Southern California coast and finished his fishing endeavors for salmon in Southeast Alaska at age 73. Jim attended Stadium High School, Class of 1943 and was a member of Slavonian American Benevolent Society of Tacoma. Jim was preceded in death by his father Mike (1935), mother Anna (1989), wife Barbara (1988) and son James Jr. (Vietnam 1967). Jim is survived by family; son Michael, wife Dorcas, grandchildren, Jim, Michelle, great grandchildren Chloe, Taya and Hallie. Survived by son Samuel, wife Teresa, grandchildren, Sam, Jake and Katie. Funeral Service will be celebrated Friday, July 18, 2008 at 11:00 am at Gaffney Funeral Home. Reception to follow service. Private entombment Calvary Cemetery. Family suggests contributions be made to charity of your choice or to American Cancer Society.
