James Brown

Obituary James E. Brown, died Sunday, July 17, 2005. He was born January 25, 1926, to Edward and Barbara Brown of Yelm, Washington. He attended Yelm Schools and enlisted in the Navy during his senior year. He served in the South Pacific during World War II. Prior to retirement, he was a driver for the Holroyd Company. Jim was a member of St. Columban Catholic Church in Yelm. He served the Yelm Volunteer Fire Department for over 37 years as a fireman and was an elected fire commissioner for several terms. He was a member of the American Legion. He also served on the Yelm Planning Commission and the Yelm Historical Commission. Jim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy and children Sharon Kabanuck (Terry), Garry (Lucy), Joann, Susan Walsh (Steve), Patricia Trusty (Jack Holtzclaw) and Mike; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and his sisters Barbara Kraus and Lucille Hayes (Dick). Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Columban Catholic Church in Yelm on Thursday July 21 at 10 a.m. Mass will be preceded by a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
