Obituary Jack H. Salter Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, Jack passed away peacefully at home January 23, 2010 at age 81. He was born and raised in Tacoma to John and Anna Salter. Jack retired from U.S. West after 35-1/2 years; he was known as "Salty" by his co-workers. Jack married Arlene in 1954, and they had a long, loving, and devoted marriage of 55 years that has been a wonderful example to all. With our mother's loving care of Dad during the last 2 years in particular, "in sickness and in health"Ebecame far more than just a phrase. Jack is survived by his loving wife, wonderful children Terrie (Dirk), Mark (Patti), and Steve (Deena), and precious grandchildren Jacque, Devan, and Delaney. He was a great man of honesty and integrity and will be missed by all. Thank you to all the friends who have supported and loved Jack and his family during his battle with prostate and bone cancer. A Mass will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 10:00 am at St. John of the Woods, 9903 24th Avenue East, Tacoma 98445. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
