Jack Anthony Martin Ancich

November 9, 1945 — August 12, 2018

Obituary Jack Anthony Martin Ancich passed away suddenly on August 12, 2018, in the west slope neighborhood of Tacoma, at the age of 72 years young. Born on November 9, 1945 to Jack and Millicent Ancich, he grew up on Ash Street in the Hilltop neighborhood. A lifelong resident of Tacoma and devoted Catholic, he attended St. Leo's School, Bellarmine Preparatory School, and University of Puget Sound. At a young age, Jack began working with his father selling fish and then later worked each summer as a commercial fisherman during high school and college. Whenever he had a spare moment, Jack could be found detailing his car in the garage. It wasn't long before Jack realized that the love of his life was standing in front of him, and wed his Croatian sweetheart, Frances Vukovich, on April 7, 1973. Jack began his career in the automotive aftermarket as a manufacturer's representative and in 1983 he started his own business, Trans Western Marketing, which he developed into an international company where he enjoyed working until his death. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, the Slavonian American Benevolent Society, and the AutoCare Association Manufacturers' Rep Council. Jack will be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted father, and a doting grandfather. He adored his four grandchildren, always having candy, time, and love for them. He will be remembered for his quick-witted one-liners, generosity to a fault, willingness to give sound advice, love of all animals, and calming presence. Jack leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Frances; sister Jeannie Bradley (Don); two children, Nicole Ancich (Brian Bumpers) and Jack Ancich (Christin); and four grandchildren, Winnie, Vincent, Carsen, and Matthew, all of whom he loved dearly. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Tacoma, Washington, followed by inurnment at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tacoma Humane Society at https://www.thehumanesociety.org/donate/ or Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County 2608 Center Street Tacoma, WA 98409; or to Annie Wright Schools at http://www.aw.org/give or Annie Wright Schools 827 N.
