Obituary Iris Arlene Sigel Iris Arlene Sigel Passed away November 15 at home in Seattle. Born in Chicago 12-25-1928 to Joe and Rose Woolfe, Iris lived a full life with her husband of 62 years, Stanley (Buddy), until his passing in 2011. She is survived by daughters, Debby Sigel (Tacoma), Jeri Jardine (Seattle), and Diane Sigel; and husband, Allan Steinman (Seattle); three granddaughters, Jessica and husband Chris Bender, Esther Steinman and wife Danielle Anselm, and Tara Hurst. Iris is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Donald and Charmion Woolfe, and many generations of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Florence Goldman, and her parents. Iris was truly a woman of valor. Her life was the embodiment of tikum olam, healing the world, through her countless hours of volunteering at Temple Beth El during the 28 years she lived in Tacoma. She also was active in Hadassah, holding every board position in the chapter and region. Iris and Buddy wintered in Palm Springs for many years, where she volunteered at the Desert Regional Medical Center. When she wasn't baking for a bar mitzvah or Hadassah meeting, Iris's greatest joy was entertaining and cooking for her family and many friends. All the cousins still talk about her baked beans. Even when her body and mind let her down, everyone Iris met became a friend. She will be missed by many. Special thanks to The Summit, Kline Galland Home, and all the caregivers from Hyatt HomeCare. Graveside services Tuesday, November 17, at 1:00, Home of Peace Cemetery, 5421 Steilacoom Blvd., Lakewood. Donations may be made to Hadassah, Kline Galland Center, or Temple Beth El.
