Obituary Irene (Faker) Bailey Our Lord invited Irene (Faker) Bailey to celebrate her eighty first birthday in heaven on April 26, 2013. She was born on that day in 1932 in Yates Center, Kansas and was a much beloved member of one of the largest extended families in Washington State (the Faker clan). Preceded in death by her husband, Graydon Bailey, she was the daughter of Edward F. Faker and Margaret I. (Taylor) Faker, also deceased. "Rene" attended Holy Rosary Elementary and St. Leo's High School followed by Business Law School. She was the Major Elevator Operator at the Tacoma's Medical Arts Building before becoming one of the early Flight Attendants for Western Air Lines in 1951. She married Dudley Case (RIP) in California in 1955 and adopted two children, Richard (RIP) and Debbie Case, now of Tacoma. She has two grandchildren, Holly Ross of Tacoma and Jeremy Case, USAF, of Hololulu; and two great-grandchildren, Ireana and Jasiah. Irene was a lifelong and highly devoted Catholic and an active parishioner and prayer group leader at St. Charles Borromeo Parish. Her devotion to the Blessed Mother led her to all of the world's spiritual sites from Lourdes to Medgegoria. She accompanied the first return of the Blessed Mother of Tenderness Icon to Moscow, Russia in the late 80's. She was both an artist and florist in later years and she owned and operated "Irene's Bouquet" florist shop on 6th Ave for 10 years. She and Graydon designed and decorated many winning floats for the Daffodil Parades. She is survived by 2 sisters, Kathy McCormack (Mel) of Tacoma and Karen Nichols (Rod) of Avandale, AZ; 3 Faker brothers, Ed (Jeanne), Dennis (Karen - RIP) and Tim (Dawn) of Tacoma and Max Gray of Palm Bay, FL. She has some 250 aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins in Western Washington. Rosary will be recited on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at 7:00pm at Gaffney Funeral Home, 1002 S. Yakima Ave. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 11:00am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 7112 S. 12th St. with reception to follow.
