Obituary HELEN DOROTHY (GEBHARDT) HILLENBRAND Helen was born 95 years ago in Syracuse, NY and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her daughters, Judi and Carol. Our mother spent the first 73 years of her life in Syracuse where she graduated from North High School, raised us, and worked as a bookkeeper in a fine jewelry store. The Depression forced her to go to work instead of being able to attend normal school as she had planned, for her desire was to be a teacher. But despite having to forsake college, we believe that she attained her goal because she taught us all of the important things we needed in life - love, kindness, truth, honor, and integrity. Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl (Charles) and is survived by us, her daughters, Judi Maier and Carol Butler, and our husbands, Tom Wie and Paul Butler, and her sister Elizabeth Maroney who lives in Syracuse. We invite you to pray with us at a mass of thanksgiving for her wonderful life at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6 at St. John Bosco Church in Lakewood, WA.
