Obituary Helen Franich Helen Franich, long time resident of Fife, WA died Oct 24th as she wished, in her home, with her family nearby. Born Jan 8th 1922 to Hugo & Celia Glaser and grew up on Harstine Island where she attended the one room school house. Helen graduated Shelton High in 1940 and later worked at the Tacoma Match Plant and was active in the USO. Married 62 years to her adoring husband Steve, Helen was the ultimate stay at home mom, raising 5 children and one granddaughter and cared for other family members as well. Helen also loved to work in her yard especially growing dahlias. Helen is survived by her husband Steve and granddaughter Nicole of the home. Sons Michael (Grace) of Milton, Steve Jr. (Cherie) of Olalla, Tony (Margaret) of Eatonville, daughter Christine Blackett (Jim) of Eatonville, 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, brother Joe Glaser of Harstine Island, sister Margaret Simmons of Lacey and numerous more family & friends. Preceded in death by daughter Theresa and grandson Christopher, parents, & brothers Andrew, Bud & Dick Glaser. A very special thank you to all who cared for Helen in the past four years. A celebration of Helen's life will be held at St. Martin of Tours Catholic church, 2302 54th Ave in Fife, with the Rosary at 10:30am Thursday, October 29, 2009 and Mass at 11am. Lunch will follow in the church hall and interment at Gethsemane Cemetery in Federal Way. Donations to The American Cancer Society "Relay for Life-Eatonville Team Christine" can be made in Helen's memory.
