Grace M Lawrence

Obituary Grace passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 25, 2006 at the age of 92. Born in Havre, Montana. She attended Visitation Villa in 1934 and the University of Florida in 1947. She graduated from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in 1937 and was the first Nurse for the DuPont Powder Company in DuPont, Washington. She entered the Army Nurse Corps in 1941. She served for three years in Hawaiian Islands and a year on the Island of Mindoro in the Philippines during WWII. Grace is preceded in death by her husband Lt. Col. Charles E. Lawrence of Birmingham, Alabama, and her long time friend and companion George Dohrer of Tacoma. Her son Charles, his wife Linda and two grandchildren Ivan and Vika, her son Robert and her daughter Susan McDaniel and partner Kathryn, her brother Mike and sister-in-law Marjorie McDaniel survive her. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends. Grace was a Friend of Bill W. of Akron, Ohio for over 35 years, Grace will be deeply missed. A memorial Mass will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2007 2:00 pm at St. Frances Cabrini, 5505 108th St. SW, Lakewood, WA 98499. Donations in her memory may be to the charity of your choice.
