Obituary Grace Marie Collison, (Chimenti) Grace Marie Collison (Chimenti), a lifelong resident of Tacoma went home to her father, mother and son on July 28, 2006. Born on January 31, 1927, Grace graduated from Lincoln High School in 1945. In 1946, she met and married a handsome young soldier, Dayle Collison. The army took Grace and Dayle around the world, returning to Tacoma in 1962 to continue raising their children. Grace was active in several bridge groups and the Catholic Woman's Club. Grace had a deep love for life, her garden, and above all, her family. Grace was preceded in death last year by her son, Pat. She is survived by her husband Dayle; sons Tom of Tacoma, and Mike (Carole) of Ellensburg; daughter Carla (Randy) Huyck of Olympia; daughter-in-law Julie Collison of Tacoma; grandchildren Cassandra, Alexandria, Michelle and Tony Collison of Tacoma and Anna Huyck of Olympia; sister Kathryn (George) Bisson of Tacoma and brother Mike (Laura) Chimenti of Danville, CA. Grace is also remembered by countless cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. The daughter of an immigrant, Grace was fiercely proud of her Italian heritage and Catholic faith. She was a woman of strong character and opinion, and will be remembered for her ability to talk to anyone. Grace instilled in her children a strong sense of love for and duty to their family. Funeral Mass and celebration of her life will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 3rd at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 7112 So. 12th Street, Tacoma, Wa 98465. A vigil will be at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, August 2nd, at the Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel. Donations may be made in her memory to the American Lung Association of Washington.
