Gertrude Mary Brown

July 13, 1948 — June 2, 2007

Obituary Gertrude Trudy (Bollinger) Brown Trudy passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of June 2, 2007, at the young age of 58. A lifelong resident, Trudy was born July 13, 1948, in Tacoma, WA. She attended Sacred Heart School and Lincoln High School. Trudy retired from the Franklin Pierce School District where she worked for many years as a cook and custodian. She loved her job and took great pride in her schools. She loved gardening, baking and decorating birthday cakes for her daughter Kim and her nieces and nephews. She was also fond of riding motorcycles, visiting the beach, and her animals. Pets were an important part of her life, especially her beloved Afghans, Troubles, Queer and Alice. Trudy suffered from the debilitating effects of Alzheimer's the last decade of her life. The disease eventually prevented her from doing the things she loved. She always knew her visitors and greeted them with a smile, a hug, and a kiss. She was preceded in death by her mother; Mary Bollinger, father; Norman Bollinger, Uncle Fred Hill and dear friend and mother-in-law; Shirley Brown. Trudy is survived by her brother; Fred Bollinger, sister-in-law; Susan Coley-Bollinger, daughter; Kimberly Ann Brown, grandson; Scott Franks, friend and former husband; Robert Brown, the Brown family and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Life Care Center of Federal Way, for the compassion and care they gave our beloved sister, mother and grandmother during the last months of her life. Rosary will be recited on Friday, June 8, 2007 at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Funeral Mass at 10:00 am, and interment at Calvary Cemetery. Please leave online condolences at www.gaffneyfuneralhome.com. Arrangements by Gaffney Funeral Home 253-572-6003.
