Obituary Geraldine Phyllis Christenson April 17, 1927 B October 11, 2008 Jeri passed away on October 11th in Tacoma, WA with her husband and sons by her side. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, John L. (Jack) Christenson; sons John (wife Roz) and Hans (wife Lee); grandchildren Nola, Alice, and Jack; and her sister, Ladonna Paul. Jeri was born to Mr. and Mrs. T.O. Steffensrud in Wykoff, MN. She graduated from Wycoff High School in 1944. She attended St. Mary's School of Nursing in Rochester, MN and graduated in 1948. That same year she married Jack. Jeri and Jack moved to Tacoma in 1960. Jeri was an active parishioner of St. Patrick's Church in Tacoma and a longtime member of Fircrest Golf Club. She devoted many hours to volunteer work as a member of the Philomathea at Bellarmine Prep and at Tacoma General Hospital helping service the needs of cancer patients. Her passions were "telling it like it is," her faith, family, golf, and beating her husband in the weekly football pool. Her energy, enthusiasm for life, and support of others will be sorely missed. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Joseph Dialysis Center for their care and support for Jeri during the time she underwent dialysis. A memorial service will be held at 11:00, Friday, October 17th at St. Patrick's Church in Tacoma. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeri's memory to St. Joseph Dialysis Center/Gig Harbor.
