Gerald Edward Rink

Obituary Beloved husband, father, brother and friend, Dad passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on December 14th, after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. Dad was born on June 19, 1931, one of five children born to Frank and Lena Rink. He was a lifelong resident of Tacoma and member of St. Patrick's Parish. A dedicated family man, Dad retired after 35 years of shift work at Simpson Tacoma Kraft. The legacy of his tireless devotion and exemplary life continue to serve as an abiding reminder of his love for his family, his quiet strength and his enduring faith. He is survived by Patricia, his loving wife of 51 years, children Cathy Sheppard (Norm), Jim (Cheri), Bob (Stacia), Bill, Mary Campbell (Ken), and Brian, as well as his sister Teresa Johnson, twin brother Fr. George, and 12 grandchildren. Viewing prior to vigil service which will be held Sunday, 7:00 pm at Gaffney Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at 11:00 am Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dad's numerous caregivers who comforted him throughout his illness.
