Obituary Gerald E. Holmes   Gerald E. Holmes, 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 22, 2015. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Virginia (Marchio) Holmes, his daughter Karla Holmes, son Carlos Clache, and his granddaughter Heather Baker. Gerald is survived by his children Cynthia Marcheselli, Geriann Holmes Marchio, and William Holmes. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren, all whom gave him strength every day. Gerald is a US Army Veteran, and was retired from the State of Washington Juvenile Corrections Unit where he worked with troubled youth for 30 years. "Gerry" was funny, loved to ballroom dance, wrote splendid poetry, and never went anywhere without his hat! His compassion and generous heart was endless to his family and friends. Funeral Services are planned for Friday, May 1 at 3 pm at Calvary Cemetery in the cloisters chapel, followed by Military presentation of Honors, and then a celebration of his life will be held at Old Town Music Society, (Ruston) where he was a member.
