Obituary George L. St. Pierre Our Father and Teacher George Leo St. Pierre born February 22, 1924 in Jaffrey, NH passed gently to the Lord on January 24, 2008. An adored husband, father, grandfather, and teacher, George shared his love and wisdom with his family, friends, and students. As a proud Marine during WWII, George distinguished himself in battle in the Pacific theater at Tarawa, Roi Namur, Saipan, Okinawa, Engibee, and Tinian. Returning home to the Pacific Northwest in 1949, George obtained a B.A. in economics at Seattle University and later obtained his teaching degree, whereupon he taught in the Longview and Tacoma Public School Districts for 25 years. Early in 1956, George met and married a beautiful kindergarten teacher, Carmela Federico. Together they were blessed with five wonderful children and 5 grandchildren. When not teaching or being with his family, George could be found on the rivers enjoying his favorite sport - fishing! He loved the rivers, cared for the environment, and created handsome fishing rods. He also enjoyed great success growing beautiful and delicious vegetables in his garden and refinishing antique furniture. George is survived by his wife of 51 years Carmela; daughter Mary; and sons James, Charles, and Christopher; sister Trudy Kaelin; brother Oliver; grandchildren Christopher, Jennifer, Jordan, Brandon, and Justin; son and daughters-in-law Mark, Katherine, and Marci, and many cousins and friends here and around the country. He is preceded in death by his mother Marie, father Oliver, son Paul, and his closest childhood friend and cousin Charlie. "You will always be with us". Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited prior to mass at 10:30 AM , also at the church. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in the name of George L.
