Obituary Genevieve Galfano Riggio July 24, 1919 - November 21, 2005 After a courageous 3-1/2 year battle with a blood disorder, Genevieve left this world peacefully. She was born in Chicago, but lived her life in Tacoma. She met Vincent and in 1941 they were married at St. Rita Church. Our mom was a homemaker who loved family and church. She was an artist who shared her talent and love through playing the accordion, knitting, sewing and ceramics. Perhaps she was best known for her delicious Italian meals which she readily shared with all. Her circle of friends continued to widen even in her last years as a resident of Alterra and as a patient at the Allenmore Hematology/Oncology Unit. Genevieve was predeceased by her husband Vince, her sisters Dorothy, Rose, Anna and Josephine, and her brother Frank. She is survived by her sons Anthony (Jean) and Michael (Janet), 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, November 29, 2005, 10:30 am St. Rita Catholic Church, Rosary will be recited Monday, November 28, 2005 7:00 pm, also at the church.
