Genevieve Therese Blaschka

Obituary Genevieve died peacefully at home, September 7, 2007, surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 10, 1926 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Ray and Marguerite Morrissey. In 1938, they moved to Seattle. Gen graduated from Holy Names Academy and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Seattle University in 1948. Gen is survived by her husband of 58 years, Joe Blaschka, Sr, of Anderson Island, Washington; son, Joe (Linda) Blaschka, Jr; daughters, Marita Grasher and Rae Jean Blaschka, son, Mark (Maria) Blaschka, 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Two sons, Gerard and Peter, preceded her in death. Gen enjoyed 26 years of sobriety and actively participated in Alcoholics Anonymous. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2007, rosary recited at 10:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 10508 112th St. SW, Lakewood, WA 98498. The family would like to thank Franciscan Hospice for their care and support.
