Obituary Gayle Cammarano Wife, Sister and Mother, she was born at home on December 11th, 1935 in Tacoma, Washington to her parents Patricia Mary Everett & Eric E. Everett. She was preceded in death by her parents & by her brothers, Edward Everett "Nip" & Gordon S. Everett. She is survived by her husband James V. Cammarano, Jr. of 55 years, by her sister Joanne Hawn (Jack), by her sisters-in-law Virginia Burnham (Dwight) & Marianne Everett (Gordon) & also by her children James V. Cammarano, III, Kathryn A. Lewandowsky (Stephen), Cynthia M. Mercer (Mark) & Dana F. Cammarano "Dan". She will also be missed greatly by her 5 grandchildren, Brian, Eric, Kristopher, Stephanie, & Jessica & her 3 great-grandchildren, Darrell, Shyann, & Abigail & by numerous nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends. Mom graduated from Lincoln High School in 1954 & then traveled to Guam to get a taste of the world and be with her father. She married Jim in 1956 & made her lifes' vocation as a wife, mother and homemaker for the next 55 years. She was a devoted friend to many & could always be counted on to help wherever help was needed. She loved all of her childhood friends, her bingo & ceramic friends & her yachting friends. The last few years she has been a member of the "Lincoln High School 54 Club" and their monthly luncheons became a very special time for her. She was den mother, Camp Fire Girl leader, 4-H Leader & horse show Mom. She loved her job as a mother & as a wife to Jim most of all. After their retirement, Jim & Gayle started traveling south to warmer weather and they were able to spend not enough wonderful winters with her sister and brother-in-law, Joanne & Jack Hawn in sunny California. While there she met many more friends and she discovered the "internet". She loved keeping up with her many "snow bird" friends during the off season. If you were a friend of Gayle's, you were a lifelong friend. Gayle loved all of the animals in her life & she is very excited now to be holding her beloved Bitsy again. She requested that donations be made to any animal shelter of your choice in her honor. For the last almost 5 years Gayle had waged a courageous battle with lung cancer, never giving up hope for a cure until the very end. We would like to thank all of her wonderful Doctors & Nurses at Northwest Medical Specialties and Tacoma Radiation Oncology for their care, compassion & encouragement & especially to Edward for "being the best at drawing my blood". Many thanks also to the nurses & staff at Orchard Park Rehab Center where she went to recover from her last chemo & broken ankle while Jim was recovering from his broken hip. Mostly the family would like to thank all of her many friends & family who prayed for her, supported her and encouraged her during her many treatment regimens. Kathy would especially like to thank Nola, Linda, Florence & Nancy for all the many hours at the chemo clinic and Doctor's office. She drew her strength from all of you!
