Obituary Francis Shovlin Born January 19, 1929 in Butte, Montana, Frank went to be with the Lord, family, and friends on October 22, 2011. After moving to Tacoma, Frank attended Holy Rosary School and graduated from Lincoln High School. Frank served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines during the 2nd World War. He worked for Boeing for 40 years as an illustrator and retired in 1992. He is survived by cousins Jim and Tom Mulligan and Ellen Davis. Frank was proud of his Irish heritage, and was a long-time member of The Irish Cultural Club. He was an accomplished artist, had a quick wit, and took loving care of his father's first new vehicle, a 1965 International Scout. A life-long bachelor, he left a lasting legacy through his generous donations to the Catholic Schools of Tacoma, United Way, the Humane Society, and many others. Funeral services will be held at 9am on Monday, October 31st, 2011 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 7112 S. 12th St., Tacoma. Reception to follow the services.
