Obituary Francis Joseph Grant Frank Grant died August 31, 2013 just shortly after his 81st birthday. He fought a courageous battle with lymphoma and won. Unfortunately, though his spirit was strong, his body was not. Through it all, his spirit was unwavering; he never gave up. The two most important things in Grant's life were his faith and his family. A lifelong Catholic, Frank was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church for over 48 years. He was in his element when he was in the middle of a Knights of Columbus function, a simple pancake breakfast or the annual Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner. He was Past Grand Knight of Council 809, Past Faithful Navigator of Bishop McGrath Assembly, as well as a former District Deputy. Frank served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. Dad was fiercely loyal to all of his children and never missed an opportunity to brag about them and their accomplishments. His children survive him: Frank (Liz), Ann (Darrel) Carreau, Ailene (Paul) Baxter, John (Mary Kate), Tim (Ann-Marie), David (Paula), Dennis (Krissi), Mary Frances (Enrique), Daniel (Christina) and Kristina. His grandchildren, Katie (Mark), Joe (Kelly), Molly, Megan, Scott, Ian, Bridget, Christopher, Jacqueline, Nonie-Ann, Seamus, Colton, Tiffini, Zoey, Barrett, Brooklyn, Reilly, Grace, Allison, Michael and Gavin; and one great-granddaughter Ruby. He also leaves many, many friends including his dogs, Phinn, Murphy and Doyle. Our family would like to extend a truly heartfelt thank you to Dr. Vaka his Oncologist, Dr. Laynor his Cardiologist and Barbara Larrabee his Cardiology Care Manager. We also want to thank Auntie Mollie (Cleary) for support, her visits, and for making sure he continued to receive communion every Friday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, September 7, 2013, 11:00 am St. Patrick Catholic Church. Vigil will be held Friday, September 6, 2013, 7:00 pm, also at the church. He will be inurned at Calvary Cemetery where he will join his wife of over 50 years, Mary Ann and his son Christopher. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Patrick Church, Bellarmine Prep or the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Please leave online condolences at www.gaffneycares.com.
