Obituary Frances Bernice Lowry Frances died peacefully on October 20, 2014, at the age of 91. She was born October 16, 1923 to Gordon and Helen Loyer. Frances grew up in Tacoma, graduated from Lincoln High School and then St. Joseph's School of Nursing in 1945. She worked for many years for the old Northern Pacific Hospital and Puget Sound Hospital. Frances was very strong in her Catholic faith and had been an active member of St. John of the Woods parish. Frances loved to travel, be it a day trip to the coast or her very treasured pilgrimage to Medjugorje. She loved to crochet, knit, bake and do many others crafts that she generously shared with those she loved. However her absolute favorite activity was being Grandma to not only her grandchildren through blood but the many young people who became grandchildren of the heart. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence William Lowry; and her son, William Francis Lowry. She is survived by her children: Larry (Connie), Allen (Lucia), Tim (Catherine), Tina (Fred) Mathews and daughter in-law, Jolin Lowry. She is also survived by her brother Bill Loyer, her many grandchildren and great grandchildren as well numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 27, 2014 at 11:30am at St. John of the Woods Catholic Church in Tacoma. The Rosary will be recited and viewing will be held prior to Mass at 11:00am. A reception will follow in the church hall. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
