Obituary Frances Jasper Frances Mary Carr was born in Tacoma January 3, 1920 to Patrick and Ethna Maine Carr. She died March 19, 2012 in Tacoma, WA. She graduated from Lincoln High School and Knapp Business College. In 1947, she was married to William Jasper. After graduating from Knapp's, she was employed in various offices until her retirement, with a 15-year hiatus from 1950 to 1965 when she was a stay-at-home Mom. Her family was always the most important part of her life and brought her much joy and satisfaction. She retired in 1982 as Chief Clerk in the Pierce County Purchasing Dept. She was proud of her Irish heritage and after their retirement, she and her husband went to Ireland to find her roots. Ancestor hunting and swimming were her favorite hobbies. After retiring, she and William enjoyed travelling and especially attending Elderhostels at various colleges throughout the U.S. She was a life-long member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, a member of Young Ladies Institute #67, Holy Rosary Women's Club, the Stetson Kindred of America, and a former member of the Tacoma Serra Club. She was preceded in death by William, her beloved husband of 62 years, and her brother John. She is survived by daughters: Cathy Thome (Leroy) of Anderson Island; Susan Power (Patrick) of Wauna; Paula Jasper Carlton (Jack) of Girard, Ohio; grandchildren: Chris Thome (Chrissy) of Vancouver, WA, and Mary Beth Thome of Kirkland, WA, and a niece and nephew. A Rosary will be recited Friday, March 23, 2012, 10:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass, 11:00 am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Entombment at Calvary Cloisters.
