Obituary Our beloved mother Frances Gormley passed away on January 14, 2018. Born in Ponca City, OK on December 11, 1925 she spent most of her early life in Texas. She graduated from Rice University in 1945 and worked in the Shell research laboratories until her marriage to Don Gormley in 1952. Frances was always active and she took joy in life. You could count on her to have a song in her heart and one for every possible occasion. She played tennis, hiked, participated in water aerobics and tai chai. She was an avid reader all of her life and enjoyed discussing the ideas she read about in several book clubs. In her later life she joined Memorie Singers and enjoyed both practice and performances. Frances is preceded in death by her husband Don (2004) and her three siblings. Her family was the most important thing in her life and she was always generous and loving. Frances is survived by her six children: Anne Chambers (Jack), Theresa Buxton (Jeff), Meg Reynolds (David), Mary Corpus (Joe), Kevin Gormley (Anita), and Patrick Gormley (Diane). Eleven grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren also survive her and will miss her greatly. A rosary will be recited on January 29 at 7 PM at Gaffney Funeral Home and Funeral Mass will be celebrated January 30 at 11 AM at Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Tacoma. Inurnment at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions to the Environmental Defense Fund or your local library foundation would be greatly appreciated.
