Florence E. Maenhout

Obituary Florence Maenhout Born 8/9/30 in Jackson, MN passed away peacefully 4/27/10. Florence was a graduate of St. Catherine's University in St. Paul, MN. During her first year of teaching she met her husband, Red, in Luverne, MN. They married in 1951 and moved to Tacoma a year later. Together they raised 7 children, Mark (Kim), Matt (Debbie), Mike, Mary, Marty (Sherry), Maury - deceased (Jodi), Monte (Kari) and 14 grandchildren. Mom will always be remembered for her devotion to family, a farmer at heart she loved gardening, enjoyed cooking for her large family and made daily dinner special. After raising her children she taught 20 years at Firgrove in Puyallup. Once retired, she was constantly on the go; traveling, family get-togethers, sporting events and recitals. An original and faithful member of St. Charles Parish, the church was an important part of her life. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 am Friday, April 30, 2010 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 7:00 pm at Gaffney Funeral Home.
