Fay Marie Ainsworth

July 17, 1947 — December 5, 2018

Obituary Fay Marie Ainsworth, age 71, passed away at her home in Tacoma, with friends and her long-time partner Jerry Churchill at her side on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 after a brief fight with cancer. She was born on July 17, 1947 in Lakota Beach, Washington to the late Fay Marie Suttles (Olsen). Fay graduated from Federal Way High School, and went on to also graduate from the University of Washington with an undergraduate degree in Marketing. She went on to complete her MBA at City University of Seattle. Fay lived a fiercely independent and adventurous life full of hard work, energy and enthusiasm. She was extremely active in the local community as a civic leader and a Real Estate Broker and was a founding member of the Keller Williams Federal Way real estate office. Fay served on the Boards of The Seabury School, The Browns Point Improvement Club, and the Points Northeast Historical Society. She also attended the Browns Point United Methodist Church. Fay loved to travel - so much so that she had visited all seven continents - including Antarctica and the North Pole in one year. She also loved to share stories of the years she spent sailing around the world. Even with this amazingly full and exciting life, her greatest joy came from helping others improve their lives, from spending time with dear friends and loved ones, and from helping make her community and local business environment a better place. Fay was preceded in death by her husbands, Milt Hughes and Bill Hofer. She is survived by her partner of 24 years - Jerry Churchill; his son, Alex (Jessica), and cousins Jerry Muridge, Marlene Hansen and her children Mark (Bekki), Christine, Matthew (Darcy) and grand kids. A Celebration of Life will be held January 13th from 1-5pm at the Browns Point Improvement Club. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation - www.lustgartenfoundation.org. Arrangements made by Gaffney Funeral Home.
