Obituary Evelyn Ludwig Matesa Kitna Evelyn Kitna passed away on Monday February 3rd at Swedish Hospital in Issaquah. She was 93, born March 5, 1920. Her family was with her when she went sweetly. She is survived by her children, Frank Matesa, Georgeanne and Bob Magruder, Martin and Fay Kitna, David Kitna, Duane Kitna and Bryon Stargel; sisters, Regina Musser and Josephine Strom; five grandsons; one granddaughter; ten great-grandsons; and five great-granddaughters. She was deeply loved by Linda Weiss and Wendi Stewart. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Luella and Mary; brothers-in-law, John Musser and Don Kellogg; and daughter in law, Susie Matesa. She was a fiercely strong woman that endured many hardships, including raising the five children alone after just 12 years of marriage. She worked as a waitress and eventually was the manager of the Top of the Ocean in Tacoma. Her strong work ethic was instilled in her children, all successful independent souls, who were her pride and joy. She was a devout Catholic and prayed the Rosary daily. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 10:00am at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Sammamish. She will be entombed at Calvary Cemetery in Tacoma with her family, all pre-arranged and paid for by Mom. She was really one of a kind! Please leave online condolences at www.gaffneycares.com.
