Ethel Rawlings

Obituary Ethel "Tykie" Rawlings, born July 3, 1921 to Edith and William E. Williams in Tacoma died September 6, 2009 in Parkland. A lifetime Tacoma resident she attended 12 years at St. Leo's Catholic School graduating in 1939. She married Ralph R. Rawlings in 1942 and together celebrated 56 years of marriage before his death in 1998. Ethel was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church and later Holy Cross Catholic Church where she was a member when she died. She had a great devotion to the Blessed Mother and prayed the Rosary daily. Ethel was a member of the Radio Club of Tacoma Auxiliary, enjoyed bowling, pinochle and crocheting. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother she will be greatly missed. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Edna's Home Care for the devotion and loving care of their mother. Ethel is survived by her sons, Thomas E. (Mary), Gregory L. (Jean), and Paul D. (Sharon); as well as 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, September 11, 2009, 11:00 am Holy Cross Catholic Church, interment at Calvary Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to The American Diabetes Association.
