Obituary Betty M. Johnson June 12, 1926 ~ August 27, 2013 The Lord has taken one of his loyal servants to be at his side. Betty M. Johnson passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 27, 2013. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and friend to many, she was born in Tacoma to Thomas and Helen Dolle and lived in the Summit View area through her school years. She graduated from St. Leo's High School and the St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing and looked forward to a career in nursing. After working a few years at St. Joseph's Hospital, she married her husband, Theodore H. Johnson (Ted) and became a dedicated stay-at-home mom, raising their family in Tacoma. Betty was a member of Sacred Heart & St. Ann Catholic Churches for over 60 years and enjoyed meeting with friends at various functions in the church's social hall. She enjoyed travelling to Reno whenever possible but over the years found Bingo and word games to be her favorite pastime. She will continue cheering on her Mariner baseball team through good years and bad. Mom was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Helen Dolle; her brother, Clarence Dolle; husband, Ted; and daughter, Darlene. She will be lovingly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her sons, Thomas (Elaine) Johnson of Gig Harbor, and Dennis Johnson of Puyallup; four grandsons, Thomas (Sarah), Brian (Amanda), David (Stephanie), and Aaron (Rebecca); five great-grandchildren, Abby, Connor, London, Luke and Addison. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 11:00am at Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel with graveside services at 1:30pm at Mt. View Memorial Park.
