Elizabeth Louise Collins

Obituary Betty Collins died quietly in her sleep early Monday morning, February 4th. She had had a great time celebrating her 90th birthday with family and friends just a few weeks prior. Betty had a loving and generous heart and made everyone feel welcome in her home. Her sense of humor was active her whole life even during her last hours. She was born and raised in eastern Montana but left Montana after entering the nursing profession. Being a military wife, she lived many places but called the Tacoma and Lakewood areas "home". She and Harold were married 50 years before he passed away in 1992. For the last nine years she lived at the Weatherly Inn in Tacoma. The staff there loved her and she was very grateful for the wonderful care they provided. She is survived by her 5 children, many grand-children, 2 brothers, nieces, nephews and in-laws and, of course, numerous friends. We all miss her already. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 10:30AM at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Lakewood. Inurnment at Calvary Cemetery. Donations can be sent in her memory to the American Heart Association.
