Elise Lyon

Obituary Elise W. Lyon "Gone Shopping" Feb. 27, 1925 - Sept. 28, 2005 Elise was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. Daughter of Milton & Carolyn Wurzweiler and sister of Alan. After only six dates, she married the love of her life, Victor L. Lyon, on October 19, 1947. Elise and Victor raised four children in Tacoma and in their later years enjoyed living in both Tacoma and Maui. Victor died December 26, 1990 and Elise now joins him, her parents, and her brother. Family and friends have been inspired by Elise's positive attitude and spirit since her first of many strokes, the day after celebrating her 75th birthday with her entire family in Hawaii. Even though she was limited physically, she never lost her positive spirit, sense of humor, and her love of Victor and family. Elise is survived by her four children and nine grandchildren: Dyann (Bill Jones, Ruthann Robinson, Marc Rosewood, Shawn Oberbeck), Marty (Mila, Moghan), Jeffrey (Susan, Ariel, Jordan, Joe) and Neil (Cindy, Victoria, Jake). Elise was an accomplished golfer, winning many tournaments on her favorite courses on Maui. She was torn between her love of sun, sand and surf and her family on the mainland. She was also a champion of animals and gave generously to animal organizations and many other groups with needs that tore at her heart. The family would like to thank the staff at Franke Tobey Jones for their loving care of Elise over the past two years. In lieu of flowers please donate generously to a Katrina Relief fund, the Humane Society, or your favorite charity. Elise will be laid to rest on Friday at 11:00 am at the Home of Peace Cemetery.
