Edwin V. Ellsworth, a resident of Village Green Retirement Community, Federal Way, Washington, formerly of Tacoma died April 3, 2024. He was born March 8, 1928 in Tacoma to Edwin W. Ellsworth and Vera Highberg Ellsworth. He was raised in Tacoma and Steilacoom having attended Lincoln High School. Ed was employed as a furniture upholsterer having retired in 1980. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Marlene Kalin Ellsworth. his sister Carol Ellsworth Sawtell, sister Patricia Ellsworth Nelson. Ed was known for his wit, golfing, world-wide travel, photography, award winning landscape art, cooking and delicious apple pies with more butter in the crust than recipes called for. Survivors are his sister-in-law Margie Kalin Patten, of Puyallup, his niece Victoria Nelson DeShane of Portland Oregon, his nephews David Nelson of Tacoma and Paul (Connie) Sawtell of Herndon. Virginia. Also nieces and nephews Mike Cleveland, Teresa Christian, Matt Cleveland, Mark Cleveland, Michelle Boutillier, John Cleveland, Mary Kay Cleveland and Krissy Adams.. He leaves his good neighbors Arill and Jane Berg and Tim and Denise Van Wey, as well as many other neighbors over the years. Ed also leaves his cat, Einar.
The family request, in lieu of flowers donations can be made in Ed’s memory to the Humane Society.
