Edna Marie Deloach

Obituary Edna Marie DeLoach Long time Lakewood, WA resident, Edna Marie DeLoach passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2009 in Ridgecrest, CA, where she resided with her family for the past four years. She was 86 years old. Edna was born September 21, 1922 in Hayworth, OK. where she met her husband, George Melvin DeLoach. A lifelong homemaker, Edna and her husband lived in Arizona and southern California. In 1961 the couple and their three young children drove a Pontiac station wagon and pulled a travel trailer from Los Angeles to Anchorage, Alaska. They lived there for 15 years and survived the 1964 Alaska Earthquake. Edna was an avid quilter, learning from her mother at the age of 12 years old and continued to make them up until her death. She made and sold hundreds of beautiful quilts to people as far away as Germany. She has left many beautiful works of art to her children. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, and her 8 brothers and sisters. Edna is survived by her three children Shirle Marie Smith of Scottsdale, AZ; Larry Gene DeLoach of Lakewood, WA and Patricia Ann Bell of Ridgecrest, CA. She also leaves 10 grandchildren; Chris, Aaron, Vincent, Angela, Stephanie, Jennifer, Candace, Keith, Brandi and Dana. Additionally, Edna leaves behind seven great grandchildren. A memorial in celebration of her life is planned to be held at the Gaffney Funeral Home in Tacoma, WA on Wednesday July 29, 2009 with interment following at Mountain View Cemetery in.
