Duane Semrau

Obituary Duane (Dewey) Semrau Duane (Dewey) Semrau, 85; was born on June 20, 1929 in St. Paul, MN and passed away on May 12, 2015 in Lakewood, WA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Josephine Semrau. Devoted husband and loving father, Duane is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rosella (Rose); six children: son, Robert; daughters, Rebecca (Michael), Mary (Dan), Lori (Tom), Terri (Evan), and Julie (Jerry); sister, Ruth; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Duane enlisted in the Army after graduating high school in Foley, MN. He was a veteran of both Korea and Vietnam, retiring with 20 years of service. He worked for 20 years with McChord AFB 62nd Civil Engineers team; retiring again in 1991. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, and avid bowler, golfer and sports fan. He was a friend to everyone he met. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 11:00am at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, Lakewood, WA with a reception to follow. Interment at Tahoma National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Please leave online condolences at www.gaffneycares.com.
