Douglas Paul Avery

Obituary Douglas P. Avery Douglas P. Avery was born in Tacoma, WA on January 15, 1938 and passed away on March 30, 2013. He graduated from Villanova University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Doug would also acquire a Masters Degree in this same field. He worked for North American Rocketdyne and Boeing for a number of years, but his love was teaching children. He taught school for many years in New Jersey, Philadelphia, PA, and Olympia, WA and at Tacoma Community College in the fields of Math and Rocketry. He is survived by his mother, Helen Avery; his brother, Donald Avery; nieces, Krystle and Dawn and nephew, Douglas. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11:00am at Calvary Cemetery Chapel followed by a reception. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
