Obituary DOROTHY MARIE TRUCKEY Mrs. Dorothy "Dottie" Truckey, widow of Dr. Bob Truckey, was called by our Lord on June 9th, 2006. Dottie Truckey was born in Seattle, daughter of Valeria and Augustus Biebel, on April 1 5, 1926. She graduated from Holy Names Academy in 1944. Dottie then attended Seattle University and the Providence School of Nursing, where she graduated in 1947. While there, she met her husband to be, Robert Bernard Truckey. Bob and Dot were married in 1947. Dottie lived for brief periods in St. Louis, MO and San Antonio, TX, while Bob finished medical school and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. The family lived in West Seattle until they moved to Tacoma in 1960. Dottie has been a long time member of the Tacoma Catholic Woman's club and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Dottie was a kind and loving wife, mother, and friend. She lived by the motto "If you don't have something nice to say about someone, don't say anything at all". She leaves her sons Bill and his wife Kim, John, David and his wife Julie, daughter Linda Leitzinger and her husband Tuck; 6 grandchildren, Sarah Boyd, Nick Truckey, Desire' Truckey, Philip Truckey, Meaghan Truckey, and Will Leitzinger; and great-granddaughter Mikayla Boyd. The family will miss Mom's loving presence, but is happy her suffering is over, and that she has joined Dad, whom she has missed so much. Rosary will be recited Thursday, June 15, 2006, at 7:00 pm at Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 16, 2006, 11:30 am St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 7112 South 12th St., near the Narrows Bridge. Interment at Calvary Cemetery. The family wishes to thank long time care-givers Jan Warren, Rosemarie Labriola and all the caregivers that have given of their time and love to help Dottie.
