Obituary Dorothy Marie McDonald Dorothy M. McDonald died peacefully during the evening on July 9, 2013 at the age of 87. She was born on October 31, 1925 in Ronald, (Kittitas Co.) Washington to parents Michael A. and Verna Petrovich. She and her family moved to Tacoma in 1935 where she attended Holy Rosary Grade School and St. Leo's High School. Dorothy married Robert McDonald in 1946 and devoted the next twenty-eight years to the raising and caring of their six children. After Robert's death in 1973 she worked as a bookkeeper for Fred Meyer and retired after fifteen years. She was a member of the Puyallup Elks Emblem Club and served one term as President. Dorothy had a deeply-rooted faith in God and loved singing, dancing, playing cards, reading and travel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert K. McDonald; and her brother, Michael Petrovich. She is survived by current husband, Richard Willis; children, Jim, Daniel (Nancy), Jane, John, and Gary McDonald and Linda (Larry) Nicholson; brothers and sister, John (Carol) Petrovich, David (Diane) Petrovich and Patricia Retallick; 21 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 9:00am at St. Charles Borromeo. Interment at Calvary Cemetery. Please leave online condolences at www.gaffneycares.com.
